Westerham

Westerham is located 3.4 miles east of Oxted and 6 miles west of Sevenoaks, recorded as early as the 9th century, and mentioned in the Domesday Book in a Norman form, Oistreham (compare Ouistreham in Normandy, Oistreham in 1086). The River Darent flows through the town, and formerly powered three watermills.

Its most famous residents are Sir Winston Churchill and General James Wolfe and their homes are open to the public.
