From Bushey use S exit, cross by pedestrian lights and descend to roundabout and enter Oxhey Park. Crossing the bridge 0.5 a new (2020) cafe greets, along with the remodelled Watford Activity Park. Follow NCN 6/61 signs for Rickmansworth. Leave Ebury Way R 1.9 (continue on it to link up with Spoke 8-10 link S) on cycleway to Cassiobury Park 2.9 and over Grand Union 3.2 (R for Spoke 10 canal N).
The road that follows is permeable for bikes only at Whippendell Woods 4.8. North of the barrier the road surface is very poor (correction, 11/21 - now resurfaced!). After crossing M25, the gentle climb on Bottom Lane 5.8 to Belsize 7.8 and on to Flaunden is first rate. Here Spoke 9E crosses, then Spoke 9W at Hogpits Bottom 9.1 (R on either spoke for Arc 11 merged N; L for a return to the Chess valley and the Metropolitan/Chiltern line beyond). Continue straight for Venus Hill and Shantock Lane junction to meet Arc 11 merged.
