Shared path – care and courtesy. The most family friendly section is the southern section up to King's Langley.

Watford terminus is beside Cassiobury Park, which now (Nov. 2021) permits shared use cycling, so the attractive park is used to access the towpath 0.6 and rendezvous with an extended Spoke Link 8-10.

No navigational aid needed here once on the towpath. The surface is mostly excellent to beyond King’s Langley 5.6, having been recently upgraded to that point. Arc 11 inner has crossed on Water Lane 5. It is variable thereafter, but take care crossing narrow roving or changeline bridges. The final section beyond 7.6 is poor surface quality.
