After a short ride E past garden centres, L up offroad Burntfarm Ride 0.3 (rough surface after the M25, then speed bumps) followed by suburban roads through Goff’s Oak. At Lulworth Avenue 1.7 turn L to descend to Cuffley on Spoke 1N var, the better option for Welwyn and anticlockwise points west on Arc 12. Otherwise straight on at Darnicle Hill 3.5 for a lovely but slow ride through Wormley Woods, part of Broxbourne Woods NNR - or turn L for another link to western Spoke 1N var via Bayford to Arc 12 merged Cole Green Way.
In Wormley Woods dismount to cross wooden bridge 4.8, then after White Stubbs Lane car park it's quiet lanes to Brickendon 6.5, (past, or diverting to visit, more Broxbourne NNR woodland), down a busier road to Horn’s Mill 9 and joining Arc 12 merged at Horns Rd 9.4 for the final run to Hertford and Arc 1.
