This is a most unusual dry valley up into the Downs; for almost half of its length there are no field boundaries beyond the few properties along the road. At the point the valley sides and vegetation close in, but the ride continues to be very evenly graded. Only after the right turn at Woodlands 4.6 does the ride steepen; small wonder this is a popular local ride – particularly for its exhilarating descent.
