Description

This Spin-off has just been retired, replaced by a new route to the south, which also links to NCN 6, but after that route has negotiated Luton and Dunstable towns. Just as it abandoned NCN 12 to create a new Spin-off 12, Cycle Orbital has found a more rural alternative route.

This was the shortest spinoff, but a Sustrans track - NCN6 - at its best; the Upper Lea Valley Way is metalled throughout, continuing on the old Hertford – Dunstable branch line that provides Arc 12 the Cole Green Way and Ayot Greenway to the east. Being in a valley bottom there are no expansive views, except of Luton Hoo Park when it climbs to a local summit 3.2, where you can take in the view with three local heroes: Eric Morcambe, Capability Brown, and a Luton Sea Scout.
